We are what we consume. Whether it is potato chips or ideological discourses, they construct us, shaping our feelings and thoughts. Made in Despair is an ongoing series of illustrations inspired by precarious day jobs, sleepless nights, and some iconic spanish products whose names have been recontextualized and reinterpreted.







Altough jokes not always work when translated, this list will give you an idea of the meaning:
1) Literal (es que soy yo) = literal (it’s really me). Original brand: Litoral
2) Fracasitos = little failures. Original brand: Lacasitos (made-up word)
3) El Cutrerío (que te rodea) = the tackiness that surrounds you. Original brand: El Caserío
4) El Pozo (sin fondo) = the bottomless pit. Original brand: El Pozo = the well
5) Calvo (del estrés) = bald from stress. Original brand: Calvo = bald
6) Flojette = lazy. Original brand: Florette (not really a word, sounds vaguely french)
